About Us... Meet the Artists
Sierra Vista Studios
Terry and Susanne moved to Coarsegold, California on virtually a
whim a few years ago. For two years they had talked about getting out the of city (Los Angeles area)
and moving near nature, away from the hustle-and-bustle. Due to Terry's progressive neuro-muscular disease (Kennedy's
Disease) and housing prices appreciating rapidly in Southern California,
they decided it was time to pull up stakes and dive in - moving to the Sierra
Nevada Foothills near Yosemite National Park.
Susanne Updike-Waite
Susanne has been into photography since age 7 - starting out with a 110
automatic camera.
Progressing to a Canon EOS Rebel 35 mm, then EOS Elan IIe and 7e and now Canon
Digital Rebel and Canon Digital EOS 30D.
Learning composition from her oil painting experiences, Susanne has mainly
focused on landscape and nature, but is now getting her feet wet working with
people to catch their true expressions and tell their tale through an exposure.
(A photography course in college taught Susanne the use of studio lighting for
portraits.)
Susanne also writes poetry and short stories and enjoys gardening, playing the
piano, travel and reading.

Terry Waite
Terry has taken up a serious interest in photography during the last 3 years.
Working with a Canon Digital Rebel and a Minolta Dimage 7 Digital, Terry
is now developing his own style.
Terry also works with clay and vinyl figure models.
He also enjoys travel and gardening.
